Welcome to my Art Shop
Hi! I am Liza...
Hi, I am Liza.
Mom by day, professional artist by absolute delight.
I am originally from South Africa, where lilac-colored jacaranda trees lined our humble streets and a broad array of cultures flooded our neighborhoods. I now reside in paradise; a picturesque island in Greece called Zakynthos. I met my beloved husband on a family vacation many moons ago and as the saying goes, the rest is history…
I have a master’s in psychology, a natural inclination for creating magic in the kitchen, am a bit of a wine connoisseur, and love to capture moments in time. I host and teach weekly art classes to children aged 5-12 years old and love seeing the freedom and enlightenment which creative work has on individuals of all ages, and it creates a pure intersection of my passion for art and psychology.
My love of painting, drawing, crafting and all things creative came from an incredibly early age. It really chose me and now I choose it daily. Playing with textures, colors, techniques and challenging myself to try new artistic avenues fuels my soul and fulfils my imagination on a deep, cellular level. I typically play with acrylic paints and specialize in landscapes, florals, still life and abstract portraits.
My accomplishments include working with several high-profile private buyers in South Africa and the United States. Featuring a nude collection on the British television series, Geordie Shore (2015, series 11), designing the illustration for a series of award-winning Children’s book (Can Can Kidz), and having my art bless the walls of homes across four separate continents.
My influences and inspiration for creating were descended by my late Father, who truly could turn dust into gold. Then the traditionalists/ fundamentalists Picasso, Matisse, Frida Kahlo and more recently Harold Voight, Amanda Feund and Kim Black.
Art is a continuation of myself and a journey that is never ending. There is always more to learn, devour and express. It reflects my past, present and future and I hope you enjoy my pieces as much as I thrived creating them.
With gratitude & warmth,
Liza
